Grade 4A and 4B Competition at North Berwick, 2012-07-04
Our second competition trip to Scotland.
Grade 4a March Strathspey and Reel: 7th place out of 9 bands.
Grade 4b March: 10th place out of 11 bands.
North Berwick Competition 2011
Vienna Pipes & Drums competed on Saturday 6th August 2011 in the International Pipe Band Competition at the 16th North Berwick Highland Games, under the auspices of the Royal Scottish Pipe Association. This was the first time an Austrian Pipe Band had competed in Scotland, and marked the beginning of the band’s new focus on competing internationally.

e placed 10th out of 13 experienced bands in Grade 4, which was a good first showing and set the foundation for further development of our competing band.
Members of the band also played during August 2011 at the Edinburgh Military Tattoo as part of the Crossed Swords Pipe Band of Germany.
Busking in Votivpark, April 2011
The band spend a windy morning busking in the Votivpark. The audience enjoyed the show, though those sleeping off the night before on the park benches seemed less happy at their rude awakening.
Lange Nacht der Kirchen 2010
In September 2010 we took part in the Vienna “Lange Nacht der Kirchen” festival, performing a few tunes in the beautiful Pfarre St. Otmar in the 3rd District.
Wiener Stadtfest 2009
In April 2009 we played in Josefplatz in the city centre as part of the 2009 Wiener Stadfest. We were joined on stage by leading piper John Angus Smith, who was in town to give the band a few lessons.
St. Patrick’s Day Parade 2008
Vienna Pipes and Drums joined the annual St. Patrick’s Day parade from Schottentor to the Burgtheater.
