North Berwick Competition 2011

Vienna Pipes & Drums competed on Saturday 6th August 2011 in the International Pipe Band Competition at the 16th North Berwick Highland Games, under the auspices of the Royal Scottish Pipe Association. This was the first time an Austrian Pipe Band had competed in Scotland, and marked the beginning of the band’s new focus on competing internationally.

WBerwick_2001_newspaper_clippinge placed 10th out of 13 experienced bands in Grade 4, which was a good first showing and set the foundation for further development of our competing band.

Members of the band also played during August 2011 at the Edinburgh Military Tattoo as part of the Crossed Swords Pipe Band of Germany.
